Silk Sheets: Flat & Fitted, 19–25 Momme, 16″ Pocket

Will It Fit Your Mattress

Every fitted sheet here has a 16″ pocket, on all five sizes. That clears a standard mattress with a topper and most pillow-top mattresses. Measure from the top surface down to where the mattress meets the base; if that number is under 16″, it fits.

19, 22 or 25 Momme

Momme is the weight of the fabric, not a grade of quality. All three are the same seamless 100% mulberry silk.

• 19 momme: The lightest and the choice for warm sleepers or anyone who wants the sheet to move with them.
• 22 momme: The middle ground — more weight in the drape without feeling heavy.
• 25 momme: Dense, lies flat, resists creasing best and feels closest to a hotel bed. Also the warmest of the three.

Do Silk Sheets Sleep Hot, and Do They Slide

Silk pulls heat off the skin quickly, which is why the first contact feels cool. It is a poor insulator compared with brushed cotton, so it will not add warmth the way flannel does — but it does not actively cool you through the night either. If you run hot, take 19 momme over 25.

On sliding: silk is smoother than cotton, so a shallow pocket or tired elastic will shift. These are cut with a full elastic edge and a 16″ pocket, which is the part that does the work. Washing a Silk Sheet

A wet silk sheet is the heaviest silk item you will handle, so treat it accordingly.

• Wash: Hand wash below 35°C with a mild silk detergent. Press and swirl — never wring or twist a full sheet.
• Dry: Press the water out through a towel, then dry flat or over a rail in the shade.
• Frequency: Every one to two weeks, the same rhythm as cotton.
• Avoid: Bleach, enzyme detergents, the tumble dryer and direct sun.
