Momme is the weight of the silk, the way thread count is used for cotton — higher means a denser, heavier fabric, not a finer one. This collection carries four weights.

19 momme is the everyday standard and the widest choice here. 22 and 25 momme are noticeably denser and drape with more weight, which suits sheets and duvet covers. 30 momme is the heaviest we make and exists only as a pillowcase.

Silk is a protein fibre that conducts heat away from the skin quickly, which is why it feels cool the moment you get in. It does not actively cool a room, and a heavier 25 momme weave holds more warmth than a 19 momme one.

If you run hot, stay at 19 momme and pair it with a lighter duvet rather than reaching for the heaviest weight.

Both are here in roughly equal numbers. An envelope closure tucks the fabric back on itself — nothing to catch hair or skin, and quicker to change. A hidden zipper holds the pillow more firmly, which matters if you move a lot at night or use a thick pillow.

Yes, and the two words describe different things. Silk is a fibre; satin is a weave, and most bedding sold as satin is woven from polyester. Everything in this collection is mulberry silk.

The practical difference is breathability and moisture handling: polyester satin looks similar and costs less, but it does not move moisture away from the skin the way silk does.

Hand wash in cool water, no hotter than 35 °C, with a mild silk detergent. Press the fabric gently into the water and swirl — never rub, wring or twist. Rinse in clean cool water, squeeze the excess out, then turn it inside out and dry in the shade.

Avoid bleach, enzyme or strongly alkaline detergents, the tumble dryer and direct heat. If you iron, use the silk setting or 110 °C maximum, inside out, over a pressing cloth, while the fabric is slightly damp.
