Silk Bedding: Pillowcases, Sheets & Sets in 19–30 Momme
Silk bedding is the one upgrade you feel every night rather than only see. Our 100% mulberry silk bedding covers pillowcases, flat and fitted sheets, duvet covers and complete sets, in weights from 19 to 30 momme. Whether you are replacing one pillowcase or dressing the whole bed, start with the piece your skin and hair touch the longest.
Why Sleep on Mulberry Silk
Cotton is absorbent and slightly rough at the fibre level. Silk is neither, and that difference is what people notice in the first week.
- Less friction on hair and skin: A smooth protein fibre lets hair slide instead of catching, which is why silk pillowcases are recommended for frizz-prone and fragile hair.
- Moisture stays where it belongs: Silk absorbs far less than cotton, so night creams and your skin's own moisture are not wicked away into the pillow.
- Cool on contact, all year: Silk conducts heat away quickly, then insulates once warm — the reason it suits both summer nights and cold rooms.
- Naturally hypoallergenic: A tightly woven protein fibre gives dust mites and allergens little to hold on to.
Every piece here is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified mulberry silk, tested for harmful substances.
Start With the Piece You Will Notice First
You do not have to convert the whole bed at once. Each product type here is sold on its own, so you can put silk where it earns its place and keep your existing cotton elsewhere.
| Start Here | Best For | What to Know |
|---|---|---|
| Silk pillowcase | The smallest way in, and the piece that touches your face and hair for eight hours. | Sold singly and in pairs. Sizes run Toddler to King. |
| Fitted sheet | Anyone who wants silk against the whole body rather than just the head. | Every fitted sheet has a 16″ pocket. See Silk Sheets. |
| Duvet cover | Sleepers who run warm under a heavy cotton cover. | Pairs with your existing duvet insert. |
| Complete set | Dressing the bed in one order, and the lowest cost per piece. | Three- and four-piece sets combine sheets, cover and pillowcases. |
Choose Your Momme Weight
What Momme Means
Momme measures the weight of the silk, the way thread count is used for cotton. A higher number means a denser, heavier fabric — not a finer or purer one. All four weights here are the same 100% mulberry silk; they simply hang and wear differently.
| Momme | Feels Like | Available In |
|---|---|---|
| 19 momme | The everyday standard. Light, fluid, the widest choice and the easiest price to start at. | Pillowcases, sheets, duvet covers, sets |
| 22 momme | Noticeably denser with more weight in the drape. A good middle ground. | Pillowcases, sheets, duvet covers, sets |
| 25 momme | Heavy and substantial, lies flat, resists creasing best. Closest to a hotel feel. | Sheets, duvet covers, sets |
| 30 momme | The heaviest silk we make, and the most durable surface for hair. | Pillowcases only |
If you run hot, stay at 19 momme. If you want the fabric to lie flat and last through frequent washing, go heavier. The differences between 19, 22, 25 and 30 momme covers the trade-off in more detail.
Pillowcase Sizes and Closures
Measure the Pillow, Not the Bed
Pillowcase sizing follows the pillow insert, not your mattress. A queen bed does not necessarily take a queen pillowcase.
| Size | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Toddler | 13″ × 18″ |
| Standard | 20″ × 26″ |
| Queen | 20″ × 30″ |
| King | 20″ × 36″ |
Envelope or Hidden Zipper
Both closures are here in roughly equal numbers, and the choice is about habit rather than quality.
- Envelope closure: The fabric folds back on itself. Nothing to catch hair or skin, and faster to change.
- Hidden zipper: Holds a thick pillow more firmly and stops the insert creeping out if you move a lot at night.
Caring for Silk Bedding
Silk asks for cool water and a gentle detergent, and returns years of wear for it.
- Wash: Hand wash below 35°C with a mild silk detergent. Press and swirl gently; never rub, wring or twist.
- Dry: Squeeze the water out through a towel, then dry flat or over a rail in the shade. Direct sun dulls the surface.
- Iron: Only if needed — inside out, silk setting or 110°C maximum, over a pressing cloth, while slightly damp.
- Avoid: Bleach, enzyme or strongly alkaline detergents, the tumble dryer and direct heat.
